What the two answer types mean and how they affect your score.

## What counts as each type?

Chosen answers are selected from options on screen. Written answers are typed or drawn. Your game history records the answer type so you can see how you practised.

## Choosing a mode

For an unfamiliar deck, try a game with answer choices. To practise recalling an answer without options, use a writing mode where available. You can change modes between games.

## Reading the score

A correct written answer earns 10 points; a correct chosen answer earns 5. Check attempts and accuracy alongside points when reviewing a game. The different point values are game rules, not a measure of how much Japanese you know.

Guided study and self-rated flashcards appear separately in your history. They do not add main-score points.
